William Hunter deButts III '76

"Boota" deButts was an exceptional three-sport athlete at EHS, earning three letters each in football, basketball and lacrosse. His teammates and coaches selected him as captain of the basketball and lacrosse teams. In football, he was named to the Virginia State Prep League team and to two All-Metropolitan teams.
Mr. deButts was Head Monitor. When his EHS commencement exercises ended, he was holding the
Thomas J. Moncure Award for Football, the School Award for Lacrosse, the Rinehart Medal for Athletic Worth, the C. C. Baldwin Medal for Sportsmanship, the W. A. R. Goodwin, Jr. Memorial Bowl, and Episcopal's highest honor, the Randolph Fairfax Medal for Character, Conduct and Scholarship.
At Princeton, Mr. deButts was co-captain of the 1980 lacrosse team and received the John E. Higginbotham Award for the Most Valuable Player. In the same year, he was named to the North-South All-Star Team.
He is Chief Financial Officer at Episcopal High School. He and his family live on campus at EHS.
