Episcopal Wins the 17th Annual Seminary Hill Cup
The 17th annual Seminary Hill Cup brought another thrilling weekend of athletic rivalry, sportsmanship, and school pride to the Hill as the girls’ teams of Episcopal and St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes faced off. The long-standing competition once again delivered excitement with the Maroon emerging victorious for a fourth straight year.
Before competition weekend kicked off, Episcopal’s girls’ teams gathered for the annual Seminary Hill Cup Dinner. This year’s speaker, Eleanor Winants ’18, captured the essence of that tradition. In her remarks, she reminded the audience that true leadership reveals itself in moments of adversity and that Episcopal athletics continues to flourish because of the bonds built through shared effort, trust, and pride.
The weekend opened with fierce matchups as the girls’ JV soccer team took to the field, setting the tone for an action-packed slate of games. Cross country led the charge with a decisive win over the Saints, thanks to a standout performance and a thrilling finish by Sadie Archie ’26. The varsity field hockey team battled to a commanding 2–0 win, with varsity and JV volleyball following suit, both notching impressive victories. This marked the ninth consecutive Seminary Hill Cup win for varsity volleyball.
Episcopal ultimately prevailed, capturing the Seminary Hill Cup with a 5–4 victory across all events. The win marked Episcopal’s fourth consecutive overall Cup victory and the School’s eighth win in the 18-year history of the event.
