Maroon are ISL Co-Champs for 2016-17!

The Maroon wasted no time in securing an early lead over the Snails.
Our starting five used a balanced offensive attack to record fifteen unanswered points in the opening stanza. Lexi Weger '18 sparked the team's defensive efforts with back-to-back steals that led to easy buckets for the Maroon. LB Campagna '17 used her athleticism and intelligence to pull down three of her four total rebounds in the first half, and the deadly perimeter shooing of Hope Gray '17 gave Episcopal a comfortable 36-6 lead after the first sixteen minutes of play.

In the second half, the Snails did an outstanding job of fighting back, converting off of several offensive rebounds and cutting the lead substantially. After a full timeout to regroup, the team responded with energy and focus. Hadiyyah Abdul-Jalaal '17 netted four second half points for the Maroon, while teammate Mary Ives Giblin '19 recorded six at the helm of the offense.

The defensive combination of Erin Phillips '18 and Dymin Gerow '20 gave the Snails fits while the court vision of Sophie Singletary '18 led to basket after basket for the Maroon. What was most impressive to the coaching staff, however, was the class and sportsmanship the team demonstrated from beginning to end, despite being ahead by quite a large margin.

With the 53-24 victory, the team solidified its position as 2016-17 ISL Co-Champions for the regular season.
