The Maroon held the floor as National Cathedral School struggled on Oct. 14.
Episcopal met National Cathedral School at home and walked away with a clean win, which was the result of a major team effort.
In game 1, Catie Wood '19 yet again led off with an 8-pt serving streak. Lena Block '19 experienced a great deal of time on the court in a new back row position! Kailyn Shepherd '19 racked up points both serving and hitting and had one of the cleanest, sharpest hits of her volleyball career.
Juliet Faris '19 proved to be the most consistent passer this game, really helping out in serve receive. In game 2, Karla Dominguez '20 started as an outside hitter and played all the way around the court, even fighting off some strong servers in the back row. Tiffany Stowers '20 also stepped up as an outside hitter and racked up 3 hits. In the middle of the game, setter & floor captain Wood had to sub out for medical reasons.
Not only did the team loose a setter, but we were down 12-18. Maya Loehr '19 stepped up to the plate and played a new position, while Tallie Steiner '20 confidently set for the remainder of the game. Between Steiner's plays and serves and some key serves from Shepherd, EHS marched past NCS to win the game 25-23.
