The EHS choirs took part in a special Thanksgiving service at the Virginia Theological Seminary on Sunday, Nov. 22. The choirs contributed to the beautiful music throughout the service, and two students, Sofi Navarro-Bowman ’17 and Maddy Gale ’16, spoke about the meaning of Thanksgiving. The Chamber Singers began the service with “Unclouded Day” [00:34], and the Concert Choir later sang “Wade in the Water” [10:37]. The EHS choirs joined the VTS Choirs to sing “Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation” [26:43].
EHS Parent Programs Officer Emily Urquhart '08 said, "It was a treat to be in the congregation as our choirs performed with clear and joyful voices during this special Thanksgiving service. In addition to their beautiful performances, our students were gracious guests in the Seminary’s new chapel and great ambassadors for the School. It was a definite highlight of the school year so far!"
The service was led by Associate Dean of Chapel the Rev. Ruthanna Hooke and the preacher, dean, and president, the Very Rev. Ian Markham. The music was directed by William Bradley Roberts and EHS Director of Choral Music Brandon Straub.
