More Than 600 Gather Online to Send Off the Class of 2020

With a traditional Commencement postponed until August 8, more than 600 people from the EHS community gathered online on May 30 for a Senior Send-Off celebration of the Class of 2020.

Head of School Charley Stillwell opened the event, declaring the class “destined for great things." Representing the 117 newly graduated students, Head Monitor Elijah Gaines ’20 spoke about the values that EHS teaches and the vital role that Episcopal's community has played during the pandemic.

"There are always challenges in life,” he said. “Most often they are individual or small. This one happens to be global, but perhaps that’s where community means the most, shines the brightest, feels the strongest.”
