Elizabeth Harrison Carrington '06

Carrington was an integral member of the cross country and indoor and outdoor track teams during her time at EHS.
She earned All-ISL and All-State honors all four years in cross country and was named second-team All-Met her junior and senior years. As a sophomore in 2003, she led the team to an ISL championship as the MVP and School award winner. In her senior year, she won the ISL championship race and went on to break the VISAA state-meet record. As a senior, she won the team MVP award and the School award.

Carrington was also named All-ISL her sophomore, junior, and senior years in track. She was the ISL champion in the 1600-meter run her junior year and the 3200-meter run as a senior. She won the coaches’ award as a sophomore and the Elizabeth Anderson MVP Award her junior and senior years. Carrington is the rare athlete to be honored by the Alexandria Sportsman’s Club in two sports: In her senior year, she was named the group’s Athlete of the Year for both cross country and track and field.

Carrington set six track records during her time at EHS, three indoor and three outdoor. The records still stand in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter indoor runs and the 3200-meter outdoor race.
