Boys' tennis sweeps Georgetown Day

On Tuesday after returning from and Easter break without much practice, the boys took on a talented Georgetown Day team.
The Maroon was down in five of the seven matches after the first several games, but seemed to get their footing back as the play progressed. Episcopal's top two singles players, freshman Thomas Peacock '22 and senior Garrott Braswell '19, both had challenging but winnable matches where each faced deficits: Peacock was down 3-0 and Braswell dropped the first set after multiple set points. Both boys pulled it together to get welcomed wins. At #3 singles, Scotty Marshall '20 raced off to a quick first set win, but needed a tie break to secure his #3 match, while Charlie Teeters '20 deliberately worked his way to a #4 singles win. Will Riddle '19 and Harrison Green '20 won handily at #1, while Ray Kang '19 and Matson Schorr '19 won a challenging 6-3, 6-3 match. At #3, South Wallace '20 and Charles Starks '21, put together a convincing 6-2, 6-2 win to complete the sweep.
