Boys Crew Competes in Head Of The Occoquan
The boys crew team headed back to their home water for their final race of the year: the Head of the Occoquan.
EHS fielded two boats, an 8 and a 4, both in the competitive Upper Junior Division. The eight, with coxswain Brennan Eberle '22, stroke Hays Talley '21, rowers Red Staunton '22, Archer Staunton '19, Hunter McGuire '19, Thomas Adkins '20, Chris Kim '21, Davis Alley '22, and bow Stefan Olsen '21, was the last in their wave to start. Over the 5K course, they passed two boats and beat a third on time, finishing 20th out of 23, with a time of 19:57.
The four, with coxswain Olsen, stroke Talley, rowers Archer Staunton, Garrot Braswell '19, and bow McGuire also started last, and passed one boat as they raced, and beat two others on time. They also finished 20th of 23, an excellent result for a boat with three rowers racing their second race of the day. All in all, the Head of the Occoquan was a great finish to a great season.
