The varsity football team played against a strong Georgetown Prep team on the Saturday of Family Weekend.
Prep’s defense proved why they have allowed the least amount of points in the IAC all season long (9 points per game). The Maroon offense had a difficult time getting any positive momentum going but were able to score 6 points by Bear Matheson ’20, who ran the ball hard from two yards out. Despite some early success rushing the football, holding penalties continued to put the Maroon in 3rd and long situations.
On defense, EHS was led by Juanell Walker ’19 with 10 tackles. Litchfield Ajavon ’19 and Bryce Steele ’21 both added nine tackles apiece. The powerful rushing attack of Prep proved to be too much as Prep went on to score 24 unanswered points.
Kicker Paul Pivirotto ’19 had an amazing night handling all three phases of the kicking game for the Maroon.
