Game Over: Bullis Ends Maroon's Undefeated Streak

This is the first loss for the Maroon, who won their first six games in a row.
The Maroon offense scored on the opening drive and looked unstoppable when Emmett Morehead ’21 finished the drive off by scoring on a quarterback sneak from one yard out. Morehead finished the game with 176 yards passing on 35 attempts. The usually strong rushing attack of the Maroon offense was held to only 99 yards. Juanell Walker ’19 had 75 yards on the ground, but was the team’s leading receiver with 64 yards receiving out of the backfield. Despite 71 plays, and 275 yards of total offense, 3 crucial turnovers proved too much for the Maroon to overcome.

The Maroon defense was led by John Boyles '20, and Jeff Stallings ’20 with five tackles each. Bullis, known as a powerful rushing offense scored all three of their touchdowns by passing the ball well against the Maroon’s star filled secondary. The Maroon stacked the box and was very successful shutting down Bullis' strong rushing attack. Bullis made several critical adjustments on offense and defense to secure the win.
