EHS Defeats Collegiate in Wake of Friday Night Lights

For the second game in a row, the Maroon starting defense has yet to give up a touchdown.
Elijah Gaines '20 had a great game at Defensive Back with a crucial interception return for a Touchdown. The defense held a powerful Collegiate offense to -6 yards rushing led by John Boyle '20 with 10 tackles, and one QB sack.

The Maroon special teams unit was solid. Punter Paul Pivirotto '19 had an excellent night pushing Collegiate back into their own end on multiple key situations. Litchfield Ajavon 19 was stellar all game with several huge hits, including a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown.

Juanell Walker '19 had a breakout game rushing for 198 yards on 17 attempts with 3 touchdowns and one 2-point conversion score. The Maroon offensive line, Taylor Burns '19, Parker Jenkins '20, Tommy Reilly '19, Max Meyer '20, and Lawson Laverty '21 overpowered the Collegiate defensive front and provided huge holes, and solid pass protection.

The Maroon are now 3-0 and will play at home under the lights against a talented 4-1 St. Stephens’s & St. Agnes team with kickoff at 7:30PM on October 5th. This Alexandria rivalry is sure to attract a large crowd.
