Tiffany Stowers '20 was a strong defender on the mound, with seven strike-outs, four put-outs, and only one walk in five innings. All the girls throughout the lineup did a great job selecting good pitches and putting the bat on the ball in the first few innings. Thanks to solid hits by Nicole Carino '19, Judy Liu '18, and Madi Register '18, the girls were able to get runners on base and into scoring position. A hard hit by Carino and perfectly placed sacrifice bunt by Natasha Wanjiru '20 were how the team scored their only two runs of the game. Defensive highlights include two crucial catches by center fielder Lilly Wilcox '18 that prevented Potomac from scoring, and two fly ball catches made by right fielder Liu and second baseman Register.
As this was the last home game of the regular season, the seniors were honored at the end of the game. The team celebrated Melanie Hoffmann '18, Kayla Murphy '18, Register, and Co-Captains Liu and Wilcox with flowers, cake and a water balloon fight. The girls were in good spirits despite the loss, and enjoyed the time celebrating their teammates.
