Maroon Defeats St. Anne's Belfield
The Maroon rebounded after a tough loss on Friday to defeat #6 VISAA-ranked St. Anne's Belfield in an important state game.
The win improved the Maroon overall record to 8-4 and 6-3 in VISAA play.
John Mckee '20 and Chad Calderwood '20 dominated at the face-off X and the Maroon picked up 65% of the ground balls to control possession throughout the game. Will Cory '19 and Ricky Miezan '18 each had five points to pace the offense. Miles Thompson '18 was strong in the cage with nine saves and Tyler Bryan '19, Jack Kelly '19, Jack Lee '20, Jack Niven '18, Coleman Marlatt '19, and Christian Storch '20 played well on the defensive side limiting a talented STAB offense to seven goals. Michael Grogan '19 picked up six ground balls and had a great take-away check late in the game to help seal the victory.
