The boys varsity lacrosse team lost to a tough Georgetown Prep team on Friday afternoon by four points.
Prep opened up the game in the 2nd quarter as they extended a 3-2 first quarter lead to 7-2 halfway through the second. Three quick goals by Will Cory '19, Finlay MacKnight '20, and Thomas Williamson '19 cut the lead to 7-5 before Prep added two more to extend their lead to four at the half.
Williamson and Ricky Miezan '18 each scored to cut the lead to 9-7 early in the 3rd quarter and then neither team would score over the next 15 minutes of play. The Maroon defense was outstanding in the second half limiting Prep to two goals and Michael Grogan '19 picked up a team leading four ground balls in his first game back from an ACL injury.
The loss drops the team's record to 0-2 in IAC play.
