Varsity Golf Falls by 12 to STAB
On Thursday, April 5, we had our second match of the year at Belle Haven against St. Anne's-Belfield (STAB) of Charlottesville, Va.
Despite some great shots, we scored poorly as a team and lost the match 173-185. The medalist for the match was Sam McNamara of STAB who fired a 33, which was truly exceptional play for the conditions.
A note on match reporting: When playing non-IAC schools we play 6 golfers and count 4. For IAC matches we play 6 and count 5. In general, we aim for a score of 164 or better against VA schools and 205 or better against IAC competition. In both cases this represents a scoring average of 41 or better.
