On January 13, the girls varsity squash team traveled alongside the boys varsity team to St. Andrew's School in Middletown, Delaware. The girls won an impressive 9-0 victory, leaving them with an overall season record of 4-1.
Up first on the squash courts were the even numbered players on the challenge ladder. Karla Domingues ’20 won 3-0 at number 2, while Sabrina Teope ’18Jonesy Wilbanks ’19, and Trudy Holmes ’19 all won 3-1 playing at numbers 4, 6, and 8 respectively.

Leading 4-0 in matches, the girls needed just one more win to solidify victory for the Maroon and Black. While some of the matches were tighter in the second round, all EHS players succeeded in coming out on top. Mac Faughnan ’19 (#3) and Margaret Collett ’18 (#9) both won 3-0, while Nicole Carino ’19 (#1) and Lindsey Harrison ’19 (#5) triumphed 3-1. Playing at number 7, Lilly Whitner ’19 had an exciting comeback victory after going down 2-0 in the first two games. With support and guidance throughout the match from her teammate Trudy, Lilly was able to battle back and eventually win 3-2.

Team Captains Janie Stillwell ’18 (#10) and Sabrina Teope awarded Lily Dolan ’20 (#11) Player of the Match for her outstanding exhibition match at number 11. Although she eventually lost 3-2, Lily has displayed consistent improvement over the course of the season, always battling hard and fighting until the end. This was the closest match she has played all season. Janie and Lilly Schmactenberger ’19 (#13) played well but lost to strong St. Andrew’s opponents, 3-2 and 2-0 respectively.
