Boys Varsity Lacrosse Loses to Bullis
The loss drops the team's record to 9-5 overall and 0-3 in IAC play.
The team played it's best half of the season in the first half as the offense was efficient (scoring on 8 of 13 shots) and the defense held in check a very potent Bullis attack. Will Cory '19 and Ricky Miezan '18 combined for four goals in the first half and Chad Calderwood '20 and John McKee '20 generated possessions with eight face-off wins. The defense also played well in the first half as Miles Thompson '18 had seven saves and Coleman Marlatt '19 limited the no. 1 junior recruit in the country to one goal.
The third quarter proved to be a tough one for the Maroon as Bullis controlled the possession game and outscored the Maroon 5-0 to take an 11-8 lead into the fourth quarter.
The boys fought hard until the end, but were unable to make a comeback.
Jared Andreala '20 (3pts) and Finlay MacKnight '20 (3pts) were key contributors on the offensive end and Jack Lee '20, Jack Niven '18, Jack Kelly '19, and Michael Grogan '19 stood out for their solid defensive play.
