The Maroon traveled to McLean, Va., to face the Potomac School Panthers in a non-league match-up.
Both teams played solid basketball in the opening period, and this continued to be the case in the second quarter as well. The teams were tied 28-28 as the buzzer sounded for halftime. The third quarter was a tough one for the Maroon. The Panthers found their rhythm from the perimeter, and they took advantage of some EHS foul trouble as well. Potomac led by seven points at the end of the third, and their run continued in the fourth quarter as they built their largest lead of the game (13 points). Episcopal fought back in the final few minutes of the game, and at one point they cut the Panthers' lead to two points. Unfortunately for EHS, we ran out of time and Potomac secured the victory by a score of 73-69. The Maroon showed great resiliency in their comeback effort that fell just short.
EHS is the #3 seed in the tournament, and the team's record stands at 17-8, 6-4 in the regular season of the IAC.
