The boys climbing teams competed against Flint Hill, alongside the girls teams.
On the boys side, our small numbers continue to mean relying on the same six climbers day-in and day-out. There’s no rest day for these gentlemen so they are tasked with putting their all into each meet, supporting each other, and doing their best for the team. It has been doubly hard for the boys lately as we have a lot of bouldering specialists having to climb in top-rope competitions. It keeps them well rounded and on their toes, but they are looking forward to some bouldering in the meets coming up.
Kidron Kollin ’19 had 25 for our top spot, the third best score, and a tie for sixth overall. He climbed impressive 5.11a and 5.11b routes. Paul Pivirotto ’19 earned 24, just narrowly missing a final climb that would have giving him the individual win. Thomas Adkins ’20 has been our breakout climber this season and scored 20 strong points for the team off a pair of 5.10c sends. Rob Deaton ’20 had a personal-record day with 18 points from 5.10a and 5.10c. Collin Fitzpatrick ’19 earned 17 points to round out the varsity five. Bobby Hood ’19 scored 12 and was the dropped score to JV. Overall, the boys couldn’t quite get there, losing 104 – 127.
