Frank earned a bachelor’s degree with high honors in studio art and English and was awarded the Arthur Dove Art Prize at Hobart College. Additionally, he graduated with a minor in art history. Frank also was a four-year starter for the men’s varsity soccer team and a resident advisor while at Hobart.
Frank has a master’s degree in fine arts, with a concentration in painting, from the Maryland Institute College of Art and is a working artist who regularly exhibits in galleries. At Episcopal, he teaches a variety of courses in the visual arts, and he is the co-director and co-curator of the Angie Newman Johnson Gallery in the Ainslie Arts Center. In addition, Frank is the Washington Program Cultural Awareness Coordinator. He is also head coach of the boys’ varsity squash team and boys’ varsity soccer team.
Frank resides on campus with his wife, Meghann, who tolerates his constant and childish buffonery. His daughter Bess has a gleeful laugh that cures grumpiness. More information about his art and work can be found at www.frankphillips.com
