Director of the Angie Newman Johnson Arts Gallery
Liz joined the faculty at Episcopal in 2005 and teaches Ceramics 1, Ceramics 2, Advanced Studio Art: 3-D Design, and Investigations in Art. Liz is the director of the Angie Newman Johnson Gallery, a faculty advisor for the Visual Arts Club, a student advisor, and part of the evening study hall team at March Library. She also served on the Harrison Dorm team for seven years.
Liz is passionate about bringing visiting artists to the Ainslie Arts Center to exhibit in the gallery and work with Episcopal’s student body. She also enjoys collaborating with teachers and students to bring unexpected and cross-disciplinary projects into the life of the campus. Liz is a visual artist and shows her sculpture and collage work regionally and nationally.
She and her husband Nat Duffield, an art and botany teacher, live on campus in a home next to Hoxton House and enjoy bird watching, gardening, hiking, cooking, and traveling in their spare time.
