Javier Bastos

• Biology and Environmental Science Teacher
Biography:
Javier is a multi-talented individual with a diverse background. He currently works as a biology and environmental science teacher, and he also serves as an assistant coach for the girls' JV soccer team and is a member of the Evans dorm team. Before joining Episcopal, he had an extensive career as a teacher in both independent and public schools. Prior to that, he worked as an industrial chemist and manager at L'Oreal.

In addition to his teaching and coaching roles, Javier has been actively involved with the Crimson Summer Academy at Harvard University for the past 20 years, helping to establish and support the program.

Originally from Costa Rica, Javier has a strong passion for soccer, an enthusiastic World Cup soccer fan and Tour de France follower. Exploring the culinary world as a foodie makes for some fun travel experiences.  He is the proud father of two current EHS students, Nate ‘24 and Beatriz ‘26.
