WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO ATTEND A BOARDING SCHOOL?

My sister (Emily ’14) and some other friends attend boarding school, and after hearing how much they enjoy it, I became interested, too. I was also interested in exploring a new environment and engaging in a more rigorous academic program.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO ATTEND EHS?

My sister is a student here, so I was familiar with the School and knew how much she enjoyed being here.

HOW HAS EHS IMPACTED YOUR LIFE?

In just one year, I have learned new study habits and time management skills that are already impacting my performance. I know the skills I am learning will continue to benefit me in college and beyond.

HOW HAS YOUR DECISION TO ATTEND BOARDING SCHOOL AFFECTED YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR PARENTS AND EMILY?

I believe my parents feel better knowing that my sister and I have each. My parents, sister, and I all enjoy being a part of the Episcopal community, and although we are over 1,000 miles apart, we still communicate almost daily.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF EHS DAILY LIFE?

My favorite time of day is after athletics practice when I can hang out with my friends in the student commons, on dorm, or outside playing casual sports.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT YOURSELF BY BEING A PART OF THE EHS COMMUNITY?

I have learned that I will be faced with challenges throughout life, but overcoming them makes me a stronger and more resilient person.
