Testing

Standardized testing is required for students applying to Episcopal for the fall of 2025. This requirement is one component of a holistic process by which we evaluate prospective members of our incoming class. Please reach out to our office if you have concerns about your ability to submit standardized test scores.

9th and 10th Grade Applicants
Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT)
Applicants for the 9th and 10th grades should plan to take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) in October, November, December, or January. The SSAT is available in three testing formats - paper, SSAT at Home (United States and Canada only), and Prometric. For more information on the SSAT and the various testing options, please see their website.  Scores received from the February test date will be accepted provided all other application requirements are met by the January 15 deadline. Enter our code - 3022 - on your SSAT online registration, and your scores will be sent directly to EHS. Visit the SSAT website for more information and to register for the test.

Episcopal's school code for the TOEFL is 8144. Please visit the international application information section of our website for more details about submitting an application as an international student. If the applicant attends an international school or a junior boarding school in the United States, the TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo English Test may be waived.
