Biography:
Tommy Pratt grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minn. He graduated from Minnetonka High School in 2018 and left home to study at Duke University, where he furthered his interests in computer science, math, and creative writing. Tommy also spent time outside the classroom in teaching and in the arts; he was a teaching assistant in the computer science department, wrote for the satire newspaper, and led a pre-orientation arts program for first-year students. He had a short but brightly-burning career in musical theater.
Tommy graduated in 2022 and spent the year after college trying new things, like traveling alone through Europe and living in the backcountry of Chile. He also became a freelance tutor during this time and realized how much he loved helping people learn, which led him to pursue his first full-time teaching job at EHS in early 2023.
Tommy lives in Hummel Dorm at EHS and teaches classes in both Math and Computer Science. He coaches boys’ rowing, his longtime sport from high school, in the fall.
