12/15
Episcopal sent a team to participate in the 12th Annual Virginia High School Ethics Bowl at Collegiate School in Richmond, Va. The team was forged from the student-run Ethics Club at EHS, with leader Jerry Zhang ’28 proposing participation. During the Ethics Bowl, students prepare for more than 15 case studies that address today’s ethical issues, from privacy and technology to corporate and personal responsibility. Joining Zhang were four other students — Felix Trask ’28, Rocky Jiang ’27, Josh Tse ’27, and Jalen Xu ’28. The team lost one match to St. Christopher’s School but won against last year’s victor, St. Catherine’s School. “I could not have been more proud of these students,” said club sponsor The Rev. Betsy Carmody. “They embodied the Ethics Bowl ethos of striving to have thoughtful and challenging conversations and embracing the grey in a world that sees a lot of black and white. I can’t wait for next year!”
