Biography:
A 1997 graduate, Lucy returned to EHS in 2014 where she serves as the Dean of Faculty. Previously, she served as the dean of residential life, as well as a dorm head and grade dean. She continues to teach English, including electives in American literature, personal essay writing, and the epic, The Odyssey. 

Following her graduation from the University of Virginia, Lucy began her teaching career at independent schools in Winston-Salem, N.C., and Middleburg, Va., before heading north to serve as an administrator at St. George’s School on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in Newport, R.I., where she and her family lived for ten years. Lucy holds an M.A. in English from Middlebury College and an M.Ed. in school leadership from Columbia University’s Klingenstein Center.

In her free time, Lucy loves to read, cook, explore the D.C. area with friends and family, and spend as much time as possible on the Northern Neck of Virginia. She lives on campus with her husband and daughter, EHS class of 2027.
