Biography:
Kathleen joins Episcopal after fifteen years at Chadwick School near Los Angeles where she taught physics, biology, and chemistry at all levels and coached middle school cross country. Kathleen was also elected by the faculty to serve a two-year rotating term as Dean of Faculty and Staff from 2021-2023, during which she successfully navigated a Head of School transition, implemented inclusive practices, and built faculty morale and belonging. In addition to her “day job,” since 2015, Kathleen has been a freelance writer for science education publishers, contributing chapters for textbooks, teacher resources, and instructional design plans. Originally from Virginia, Kathleen started her teaching career at Foxcroft School in Middleburg; she is very excited to return to the world of boarding school where, at EHS, she will teach four sections of biology and chemistry, coach, serve as an MRC program associate, serve on the Harrison dorm team, coach j.v. field hockey and track, and advise freshman girls. Kathleen and her husband, who share four college-age and beyond children, will live in Alexandria.
