Biography:
Julie taught college-level English in China for over ten years before moving to the United States, where she spent seven years taking on a variety of roles, including speech analyst, legal translator, computer teacher, and Mandarin Chinese instructor. Her passion for language and culture has taken her into many different classrooms, including two years at Montclair State University, where she combined her expertise in language, culture, and technology to create engaging, hands-on lessons.
At EHS, Julie teaches six levels of Mandarin Chinese. She sees teaching as more than just helping students learn a language, it's about sparking curiosity and encouraging creative and critical thinking. “My goal is to help students grow into thoughtful, inquisitive individuals who are ready for the world beyond the Episcopal classroom.”
