Biography:
Joey came to EHS in 1996 and joined the teaching faculty in 1998, working the first several years building the instrumental music program. In 2007, Joey was awarded the Olsen Sabbatical to begin a master's of science degree in professional mental health counseling at Loyola University of Maryland. She then spent five years with the counseling department at Georgetown Visitation School. She returned to EHS in 2014 to join the counseling department.

Joey's goal is to help students discover their personal goals, recognize those things that might hold them back, and learn ways of developing and nurturing their own identities. She works with the team that focuses on 9th grade wellness, especially as that relates to navigating new and growing friendships on campus.

In her free time, Joey enjoys cheering on the Nats, making music with EHS students and faculty, traveling to watch son Mac ’25 play baseball, and catching Broadway musicals with daughter Abby ’23, who resides in New York.
