Biography:
Evan Howard joined Episcopal High School science faculty in the fall of 2024, where he teaches chemistry. He graduated with honors from the University of South Florida with a B.S. in Chemistry. As an undergraduate, Evan was hired as a laboratory assistant in Dr. Juan Del Valle's research lab, an experience that led to two peer-reviewed publications, including published research for his project on the development and study of a new amino acid, εoxapipecolic acid, featured in the Journal of Organic Chemistry and indexed by the National Institutes of Health.

After completing his degree, Evan worked in industry as a pharmaceutical chemist and environmental scientist before transitioning into education. He spent several years teaching chemistry for Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville, Fla. At Episcopal, Evan emphasizes hands-on laboratory work, careful data analysis, and clear scientific thinking to help students build confidence and independence in the classroom. He also serves as an assistant coach for the girls' junior varsity lacrosse program.
