Biography:
Kim joined the faculty as chair of the Science Department in 2004 after serving eight years as Associate Professor of Chemistry at Loyola University Maryland. She was a tenured professor teaching general and analytical chemistry and a research associate at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. A graduate of Rhodes College, Kim pursued her doctoral degree in analytical electrochemistry and enjoys sharing her passion for science with her Honors and Advanced Chemistry students at Episcopal.
In addition to her responsibilities in the science department, Kim serves as the school's Academic Coordinator, Faculty Technology Liaison, and Global Online Academy Site Director. When asked what she likes most about teaching at Episcopal, she says that she “enjoys the close connections that I am able to make with students in a 100 percent boarding community. I love seeing young people grow and discover something about themselves as they gain academic and personal confidence day by day.”
Kim and her husband Kaj live on campus with their sons.
For the 2025-26 school year, Kim will be on a sabbatical through the generosity of the Olsson Sabbatical Program.
