Biography:
Laxmikant (“LP”) originally hails from India where he attended boarding school as a high school student himself. After earning his bachelor’s of technology in chemical engineering in Mumbai, LP ventured to the U.S. to earn his PhD in materials chemistry from Syracuse University where he taught undergraduates for his five years there and earned an award for outstanding mentorship of incoming teaching assistants in the STEM fields. LP began his high school teaching career at St. Edward’s School in Vero Beach, Florida where he has been teaching chemistry and physics since 2018.

LP was recently awarded the highest faculty prize for excellence in teaching at St. Edward’s, and, perhaps even more importantly, in the student yearbook, the students voted him “most likely to attend a sporting event.” LP will teach physics and chemistry at EHS, serve as an advisor, assist with the sports media program and Science Olympiad, and live on Hummel dorm with his wife where he will serve as a dorm parent to the freshmen boys.
