Biography:
Dr. Pathade originally hails from India where he attended boarding school as a high school student. After earning his bachelor’s of technology in chemical engineering in Mumbai, LP ventured to the U.S. to earn his Ph.D. in materials chemistry from Syracuse University. There he taught undergraduates for five years and earned an award for outstanding mentorship of incoming teaching assistants in the STEM fields. LP began his high school teaching career at St. Edward’s School in Vero Beach, Fla., where he taught chemistry.

LP was awarded the highest faculty prize for excellence in teaching at St. Edward’s, and, perhaps even more importantly, the students voted him “most likely to attend a sporting event” in the yearbook. He teaches physics and chemistry at EHS, serves as an advisor, assists with the sports media program and Science Olympiad, and the international student affinity group. LP lives on Hummel dorm with his wife, where he serves as a dorm parent to the freshman boys.
