Episcopal students, parents, grandparents, and alumni gathered together in New York City last month for a special morning at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and a special event with our Concert Choir at the Penn Club.

For the first event, a group of Episcopal parents, grandparents, and alumni enjoyed a special tour of the Met, led by LizaBanks Campagna ’17, a NYC-based comedian and professional guide whose work has been featured in The Cut and on “The Today Show.” Campagna guided the group through highlights of the American Wing, Egyptian Art, and European Paintings, seamlessly weaving The Holy Hill into her storytelling.

By tying the Met’s masterworks to memories of EHS faculty and her own time as a student-athlete, LizaBanks reminded the group that the Episcopal experience extends far beyond Alexandria. The morning served as a wonderful opportunity for our NYC-based community to find common ground among ancient civilizations and 19th-century masterpieces alike, celebrating the lifelong bonds that define the School.

Later that evening, under the direction of Mike Schmidt, the choir took center stage at the Penn Club of New York on West 44th Street for an alumni and parent event. The momentum continued Saturday morning with a performance at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, where the choir explored their repertoire within the cathedral’s world-renowned acoustics — an experience many students described as a vocal highlight of their time at EHS. When they were not performing, the group fully immersed themselves in the city’s vibrant arts scene, catching performances of “Operation Mincemeat” and “The Outsiders” on Broadway.
