Parent Volunteer Opportunities 2023-24

Parent Connect Ambassador
(Mentor New Families; Returning Family Volunteers Only)
  • Welcome and serve as a point of contact to three to four new EHS families.
  • Connect with your assigned families before and during events like the start of school, Family Weekends, Spirit Weekend, etc. to say hello in person, introduce them to others, and help them feel comfortable on campus.
  • Answer questions (i.e., what do people wear during Family Weekend? Do parents go to the Woodberry Game?) and share your favorite EHS traditions, experiences, and advice.

Roll Call Volunteer
  • Join your grade-level committee to help drive participation in the School’s annual fund, the Roll Call.
  • Act as a sounding board for the EHS Advancement Office to help direct and plan parent efforts.
  • During key fundraising efforts, reach out to a handful of families in your child’s class and invite them to join you in supporting EHS.

Area Representative
  • Identify and refer qualified potential applicants to the Admissions Office.
  • Host a reception and/or attend local gatherings for prospective students and their families.
  • Contact families during different points in the admissions process to answer questions.

Spirit Weekend: Class Tailgate Organizing Committee

  • Help lead planning and execution of class tailgates for the The 122nd Game on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Woodberry Forest School in Orange, Va. This historic football rivalry dates back to 1901 and is a spirited tradition for EHS sxtudents, families, and alumni.
  • Each grade will have a tailgate lunch for students and families. The organizing committees help organize food or modest financial contributions among grade-level parents, set up, provide any decorations, and clean up. EHS will provide tables, barbecue, and necessities like plates, napkins, etc.

Local or Regional Event Host
  • Do you love to entertain in your home or another local venue? Please let us know that you are interested in hosting an event for EHS in your area, and we will add you to our list of potential hosts!
