After finishing in the Top Four at the VISAA Championships last weekend, William Smith '19 traveled to Stabler arena on the Campus of Lehigh University to compete in the 83rd National Prep Wrestling tournament.
Seven members of the Varsity wrestling team competed in the Melee on the Metro, hosted by the DC Wrestling Coalition. Twenty-two teams from the DC area, Philadelphia, and Ohio competed against each other.
The Varsity wrestling team opened their dual meet season this past week competing at home with back-to-back events, wrestling Randolph-Macon and Potomac School on Wednesday, then taking on the Heights school on Thursday. The Maroon came out of the events with a 2-1 record, beating RMA 30-24, and The Heights 36 - 12, while losing to the Potomac School 33-40.

This past Saturday, eight members the wrestling team opened their season competing at the Admiral Holloway Invitational Tournament hosted by St. James School. The tournament field featured 13 teams from Pennsylvania, Maryland, DC and Virginia, and included numerous returning league and state place-winners.
