Heidi R. Huntley

Biography: Heidi is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where she pursued a degree in art history with a minor in architectural studies. She completed her secondary education certification through a post-baccalaureate program and earned her M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction from Keene State College while teaching full-time. Before joining the EHS faculty, Heidi taught for six years at Souhegan High School in Amherst, N.H., where she became acquainted with the Coalition of Essential Schools’ philosophy. Heidi completed four study programs at Yale University’s MacMillan Center, which provided her with the opportunity to travel to Turkey, China, Ecuador, and, more recently, to Morocco.
At Episcopal, Heidi serves as the Social Studies Department chair, is a member of the Anderson dorm team, loves being an upperclassmen advisor, and co-leads the Model UN Program. She also teaches Modern World History, Honors Modern World History, Advanced History of the Modern Middle East elective, and the History and Politics of Food elective. Heidi also designed and has implemented a Lyceum program as an extension of the Social Studies Department to create the opportunity for the entire community to learn about the historical context of topics in the news.
