School Extension 4064 JMM@episcopalhighschool.org
Biography: Mike came to Episcopal in 1969. He has been dean of faculty, academic dean, social studies chair, and assistant head for academics, but what he has enjoyed most is his time in the classroom. He has taught many social studies classes, including global history, AP modern European history, Russian and Eastern European history, the modern Middle East, the cold war and AP economics. He also worked for the College Board to develop the AP economics examination. Mike’s children, Zack ’94, Cassie ’95, and Isabel '17 have given him an even closer connection to EHS.
In addition to teaching social studies, Mike serves on the Administrative Duty Team and is the administrator of Canvas, Episcopal’s technology platform for instructional delivery. Mike has also teaches an economics course online for Global Online Academy, a consortium EHS joined in 2014. He believes that it is important to have a senior faculty member serving as a role model in the use of technology.
Mike lives on campus with his wife, Kay. When not teaching or reading, he enjoys building, landscaping, and spending time with his family.
