Call It Even: A Decade of the Cup Ends in a Tie

The 10th Annual Seminary Hill Cup, an afternoon of girls team games between EHS and SSSAS, ended in a tie, the first ever for the series.
Throughout its ten-year history, competition for the Seminary Hill Cup has always been remarkably even. The final standings, however, have only resulted in a tie twice; the first time in the very first SHC in 2008, and the second yesterday afternoon.

While the only established tiebreaker of "most varsity wins" was able to break the 2008 tie (in Episcopal's favor), it was unable to break yesterday's. Closely contested battles defined the day, with each school capturing a total of 5 "Cup" points (2.5 each from varsity results).

Game-by-Game Breakdown:

"Great competition and sportsmanship combined with incredible fan support to make this year's SHC one of the most exciting in history," said Girls AD Jen Fitzpatrick. "Many thanks to everyone that came out to support the day's events, with particular thanks to a fantastic group of Cheerleaders leading the way!"

Six albums of photos from this year's dinner and cup are available on the EHS Flickr site.
