Big First Quarter Seals Victory Over Saints

Episcopal made the short trek over to the St. Stephen’s campus on Friday after the class day and quickly made their way to the field to take on the hosts.
EHS swiftly took control of the game by managing the field position battle early on. The squad scored in all three phases of the game—offense, defense, and special teams—which enabled the team to take a strong lead into the second quarter.

Melvin Curbeam ‘20 scored for the third straight week, this time on a 68-yard punt return to open up the lead. His touchdown was followed by scoring runs from Seth Agwunobi ’18 and Perris Jones ’18. The lead was furthered by Juanell Walker’s ’19 interception return that came off of a batted pass by Orin Ormsby ’18. The score was 33-0 going into halftime and culminated at 40-7.

Defensively, Episcopal held St. Stephen’s to under 60 total yards. The effort was led by Vincent Notzon ’18, Orin Ormsby ’18, Ricky Miezan, 18, and John Pupel ’18.
