Varsity Football Falls to Collegiate

EHS hosted the Collegiate School of Richmond for the third game of the season. Collegiate entered the game with a 2-1 record and EHS at 1-1.
The scoring opened up after Vince Notzon ’18 blocked a Collegiate punt around mid-field at the beginning of the first quarter. EHS quickly moved down the field and took the lead 7-0 on a 2-yard touchdown pass from Seth Agwunobi ’18 to Melvin Curbeam ’20Paul Pivirotto ’19 followed with the extra point. Unfortunately, that would be the only scoring of the day for EHS as the Collegiate defense did an excellent job of taking away the momentum.

Collegiate was able to hold onto the ball for the bulk of the game and ran over eighty plays. The defense held up well, only allowing 16 points, considering they were on the field for the majority of the game. The leaders were Vincent Notzon ’18, Salim Turner-Muhammad ’19, Ricky Miezan ’18, and John Pupel ’18Elijah Gaines ’20 and Will Sergenian ’18 also provided strong efforts.

Ultimately, Collegiate controlled the second half of the game and came out on top 16-7.
