Finals Countdown Doubles Down on Goals

The EHS Finals Countdown, a one-day online blitz to raise money for the Roll Call, almost doubled its goal for donors and raised almost $350,000.
In an effort that stretched around the world and touched every time zone, almost 900 alumni, parents, students, and faculty and staff members pitched in to make a donation to EHS over the course of the roughly 36 hours of the EHS Finals Countdown. Combined with $150,000 in challenge gifts, the effort raised a total of $346,807.

The Finals Countdown had reached its initial goal of 440 donors — representing a gift for each and every current student at EHS — by 1:30 p.m. EST. At that moment, the initial challenge donation of $100,000, offered by a small anonymous group of alumni and parents, kicked in. A second (surprise!) challenge by an anonymous alumnus promised an additional $50,000 if the School could generate an additional 220 donors. By commencement rehearsal at 5 p.m. it became clear that the second hurdle would be cleared. Throughout the day the Class of 2017 rallied together in an effort to have 100% of the class make their first gifts before graduating and all 109 seniors are now counted among the 871 total donors to the EHS Finals Countdown!
