Students Experience Austrian Culture During Spring Break

Six EHS students spent March 3-13 participating in our EHS-Theresianum student exchange program in Vienna and Salzburg.
This exchange has existed since 1994; the goal is to bring the students of the two schools together in a cultural, linguistic and personal exchange. During their stay in Vienna, students visited classes in the Theresianum, taking field trips to such divergent locations as the apartments of the Empress Elisabeth, the ice skating rink in front of the grand Vienna city hall, the military museum, and the famous Therme Wien--the sulfurous warm baths on the outskirts of the city.

In Salzburg, EHS students visited Hohensalzburg, the fortress overlooking the city; and saw the Oscar-winning film "Moonlight" in a small, local movie house across the street from where Franz Gruber, author of "Silent Night" was born.
