The USWNT Road to Rio Runs Through Campus

During the week of July 25, the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team used the athletic facilities at EHS to train before departing for Brazil and the 2016 Olympics
The team, which has won three Women's World Cup titles and four Olympic gold medals, is currently ranked No. 1 in the FIFA Women's World Rankings. They spent time over three days leading up to their departure training in the Hershey Athletics Center and practicing on Bryant Field. The EHS facilities team worked hard to make sure the facilities met the team's needs and specifications.

"It was a tremendous training environment and certainly beneficial towards our preparations for the Olympics," a team representative said, echoing the praises and compliments from a number of the players.

We wish the USWNT good luck as they head off to Rio, and we will be watching and cheering for them in their pursuit of the gold! Their first match is scheduled for August 3 at 6 p.m. EST versus New Zealand and will air on the NBC Sports Network.

The team posted multiple photos from their training sessions on their Instagram and Twitter feeds
