Ansley Stewart Condon ’07

Ansley Stewart Condon was a leading scorer and accomplished athlete during her years at Episcopal. As an athletic competitor in field hockey and lacrosse, Condon was a four-year starter on both teams. As a senior, she led the lacrosse team to a top five state ranking, while leading the team in goals (42), assists (29), draw controls, and ground balls. She was nominated for the Tewaaraton Award for the most valuable player in the Washington/Baltimore area her senior year and was cited as a “Player to Watch” by the Washington Examiner. 

“Ansley is one of the fiercest competitors you will find with such incredible skill it leaves you in awe,” Jane Arnold Wylie ’07, Condon’s teammate said. “She could rally our whole team with her positivity and had a presence that you knew was worth following.”

During her junior year, Condon commanded attention when she led the team to a school record in total victories (17), captured a Virginia Association of Independent Schools State Championship, and was first on the team in goals (61), and assists (70). Scoring six goals in the championship game, Condon was also the leader of Episcopal’s first girls’ lacrosse team ranked in the Metro area. All-ISL, All-State, Washington Examiner All-Virginia, and All-American are just a few titles she was awarded.

Condon went on to compete in lacrosse with the Fighting Irish at the University of Notre Dame. She appeared in 58 games, scored 70 goals, and completed 25 assists throughout her lacrosse career. During her sophomore season she started all 21 games for the Irish and she scored goals in the Big East and NCAA tournaments. “It was amazing watching her play and I was just so glad to be on her team versus having to guard her; we always knew she would do great things,” Wylie said.
