2020-2021 Whispers Featured in the Jostens Look Book

Another award has made its way to the Hill. Congratulations to the 2020-21 Whispers staff, whose “Now What?’ issue of Episcopal’s yearbook was featured in the Jostens 2022 Look Book, celebrating the best-of-the-best in yearbook design and inclusivity.

Yearbook advisor Natalie Davies says of the issue: "We had a staff throughout the year — both dedicated veterans and those new to yearbook — who really understood the magnitude of what we were doing.”

Covid presented a series of unique challenges for the yearbook’s production. In a typical year, Whispers is created by three different staffs who sign on for yearbook as an afternoon option.  Last year, it was produced by four staffs who were not all able to collaborate in person to chronicle life at Episcopal through the pandemic.

“I am so proud of the yearbook staff members who shared the vision of telling the story of a year like no other, and who were willing to invest a great deal of time and energy to bring that vision to life," Davies said. “Our theme, ‘Now What?’ reflected the sense of uncertainty that accompanied the ‘unprecedented times’ we found ourselves living through, as we never quite knew what would happen next.  We knew from the outset that we were producing a primary source document for the future.”

Hats off to the Whispers staff, whose determination and creativity ultimately produced an incredible depiction of life at EHS during Covid. Congratulations to all!
