Fall Athletics Awards Announced

On November 30, fall varsity athletics teams gathered to celebrate the end of the season. Director of Athletics Jen Fitzpatrick welcomed the athletes to the banquet by honoring not only individual athletes, but the whole athletics community. “We recognize team accomplishments and individual honors garnered both within our community and by the greater region,” she told the teams. “But most importantly, we celebrate the relationships that have defined our shared experience in representing the Maroon and Black — relationships with teammates and coaches that inspire and challenge each of us to improve regardless of the inevitable ups and downs.”

Head football coach Kadeem Rodgers added: “While there are no new league or state championship banners to hang on the walls, this was a special fall. Returning to fully robust, competitive schedules after a long break did not come without its challenges. It required perseverance and resilience.”

Highlights from the season include:
  • 17 individuals earned All-League honors.
  • Devin Malloy ’23 and Emily Garrard ’24 were recognized as athletes of the month by the Alexandria Sportsman’s Club.
  • Six athletes were announced as All-State honorees.
