4 Announce College Athletic Commitments

Four members of the Class of 2021 recently announced their intention to continue their athletic careers at the Division I level in college. Congratulations to the athletes below!

Darius Johnson (basketball)
Hometown: Oviedo, Fla.
College choice: The University of Central Florida

Coach Jim Fitzpatrick: Darius is simply one of the best basketball players to ever wear the EHS jersey in Centennial Gymnasium. His career statistics are incredibly impressive, particularly given the fact that he has only played for three years; we have not played any games at this point during his senior campaign due to Covid-19 restrictions. Darius has amassed 1,252 career points for an average of 15.3 points per game while leading the program to 56 wins over the past three years. Darius has garnered All IAC and All State honors in both his sophomore and junior years. I will certainly miss coaching him at Episcopal, but I am excited for his next journey.

LucRichard Rameau (football)
Hometown: Rolesville, N.C.
College choice: The United States Military Academy

Coach Mark Moroz: I am incredibly proud of LucRichard for signing with West Point. He has an exceptionally high character and is an extremely talented football player. He also has a high motor, shows remarkable determination and is the ultimate team player. I am very excited to watch LucRichard grow on and off the field at Army and am confident that he will represent EHS with pride as he continues his athletic and academic career at one of the most respected institutions in the world.

Cayla Williams (basketball)
Hometown: Gainesville, Va.
College choice: The University of Richmond

Coach Katrina Reed: Cayla had a seismic impact as a transfer junior last season and was one of the most talented, coachable, and hardworking kids in our program. She blossomed into a proficient scorer and point-post, finishing shots from any location on the floor while creating for others with crisp passes and excellent court vision. Time and time again, Cayla proved herself against the top talent in the area, willing to do whatever the team needed. Whether registering 16 points, snagging 15 rebounds, or blocking eight shots on a given night, Cayla found success because of her work ethic and innate passion for the game. I look forward to watching her flourish at the collegiate level next year.

Ethan Yip (football)
Hometown: Surrey, Canada
College choice: College of William & Mary

Coach Mark Moroz: I am very proud of Ethan for signing with William & Mary. He is a young man with a very bright future ahead of him — both on and off the football field. He is a very fast athlete with strength, quickness, and dependable hands. Ethan also has a high level of football intelligence, which will serve him well at the next level. I am confident that he will do great things at William & Mary and beyond.
