Maroon finishes season undefeated!

The girls' varsity tennis team played their final game of this undefeated season against Georgetown Visitation. This is the second spring term in a row that the team has not lost any games.
The team completed the season undefeated winning match 7-0. The domination of this team for the spring season was undeniable. Team captains Gracie Huges '19, Lilly Schmactenberger '19, Lily Dolan '20, and Nora Huffines '20 showed great leadership all season.

Huges as #1 singles player faced her final opponent for her tennis career at EHS winning in a spectacular fashion 8-0. Her level of play was thrilling to watch. Schmactenberger, also completing her final year at EHS, dominated her opponent to win as the #2 singles player, 8-1. Huffines stepped up to play as the #3 singles to have another shutout winning 8-0. Lucy Wiliams '20 played at the #4 singles spot to beat a crafty and athletic opponent, 8-4.

Catherine Clark '21 paired up for the first time this season with Lucy Peacock '21 at the #1 doubles spot. They worked well together and came out with a decisive win, 8-3. Eve Mazlish '21 and Cooper Redd '20 moved nicely around the court playing in a coordinated fashion with great movement to win 8-1. Lilja Kjaernested '22 and Bell Broll '21 had one of the strongest doubles match seen this season, showing excellent shot choices and great footwork. They battled their opponent to pull out a very exciting win 9-7. The doubles teams all showed a great deal of improvement as the season progressed and ended the season in high fashion and big wins. Caroline Davis '21 topped off the victory with a final win for the exhibition match, winning 6-1. Congratulations to the athletes and coaches!
